Federal Suit Should Be Dismissed
LWVUT et al filed our Motion to Dismiss explaining that US Supreme Court precedent is clear: Plaintiffs here lack standing, the federal court must not get involved while the same issues are being fully litigated in state court, and state courts have the authority and duty to impose lawful congressional maps when necessary.
The National Redistricting Foundation filed a motion to intervene as defendants and a motion to dismiss.
The Utah Legislature filed an amicus brief in support of the Plaintiffs, largely reiterating the same arguments they have made in the state court litigation.
The Plaintiffs filed an opposition to our motion to intervene.
