The League of Women Voters grew out of the women’s suffrage movement and was established February 14, 1920. The LWV of Davis gained recognition by LWVUS in 1953. Davis County has grown and our impact has been felt by Davis citizens in our consistent work to empower voters and defend democracy through education and advocacy of our members. Join us today and make your voice heard.

BALLOT INITIATIVES        

Elections of County Sheriffs Amendment – Provides election of county sheriffs to serve four years.

State School Fund Distribution Cap Increase Amendment – Increases the annual distributions from State School Fund for public education from 4% to 5%.

Constitutional Requirement for Education Funding Amendment – Removes a provision from the state constitution providing that all revenue from income taxes or taxes of intangible property be used to support children and individuals with a disability and to support public higher education systems.

IMPORTANT DATES:

June 14 – Last day to register to vote in the regular primary election.

June 18 – Last day to request a vote-by-mail ballot for the primary.

June 25 – Primary Election (Ballots mailed beginning June 4)

July 3 – Voter’s party affiliation status can be updated starting this day.

October 15 – General Election ballots mailed out.

October 22 – November 1 In-person early voting period.

October 25 – Last day to register to vote in the regular general election.

November 4- Last day ballots can be postmarked.

November 5 – Regular General Election

Membership in the League of Women Voters of Davis County is $45 per year. Student memberships are free. You will be a member at the local, state (LWV Utah) and national (LWVUS). Read the Member Rights and Responsibilities Policy that defines what it means to be a League member.

You can support the activities of the League of Women Voters of Davis as a member or a friend of the league. You donation supports are work in voter service activities of voter registration, voter information, and education on issues of importance to the League. Donations to LWV of Davis, a 501(c)(4) organization, are generally not deductible for charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.
