This fall, the League of Women Voters of Davis County gave voters opportunities to hear from candidates for office, including candidates for County Commission Seat A and Utah House districts throughout the county.

Meet the Candidates for North Davis County was held Monday, Sept. 10 at Clearfield City Hall. Nickie Nelson was our moderator that evening. Meet the Candidates for Central Davis County was held Monday, Oct. 1 at Davis Applied Technology College. Emily Walsh moderated. Kaysville Youth Council members helped us set up, lead the Pledge of Allegiance, and time the candidates’ remarks.

Meet the Candidates for South Davis County was held Monday, Oct. 8 at Bountiful City Hall with JoAnn Hanson moderating. Bountiful Youth Council members assisted with set up, leading the Pledge, and timekeeping. Fact sheets with information about each of the seven ballot initiatives were distributed at each meeting. Candidates for State School Board were invited to meet voters and hand out campaign literature at the Bountiful meeting.

On Saturday, Nov. 3, Davis League will hold our consensus meeting on the 2018 LWV-UT Agriculture Study. We will meet in the auditorium of the Bountiful Library, 725 S. Main, in Bountiful at 10:30 a.m. to discuss the study and vote on consensus questions. Marilyn O’Dell will lead our discussion about how much of our food is grown in Utah currently and what changes we can expect in the near future.
