The Davis County League of Women Voters keeps in touch with members and friends via a monthly newsletter that is published at the end of each month with a recap of our activities and information about our issues and programs coming up in the next month. You can subscribe to that by clicking on the button to the left.
Some of our events include Meet the Candidates meetings where Davis County LWV invites candidates before elections (primary and general elections). The candidates answer questions designed for voters to express their views. During the odd years you might find us holding Meet the Candidate events for municipal candidates, and the even years we hold such events for legislative candidates and county commission candidates. We also participate in Vote411.org where voters can look up their candidates online to read answers to topical issues.
Elections and voting are traditional events for the Davis League, yet we have many other activities during the year. When the legislature is in session, and during its interim days, many Davis members are active listening to committee sessions and then reporting what we have learned.
The LWV of Davis also hosts meetings on topics of current interest. In the past year, we hosted a meeting on county government, legislative wrap up events, and several Davis members were active in studying recycling along the Wasatch Front. We learned about agriculture in Utah, elections in Davis County, and we observed the process of opening ballots. We even host a Holiday Open House and Social where we invite legislators, county commissioners, and others to drop in and speak about the upcoming legislative session.
