  1. If elected, what two things do you hope to accomplish as a member of the House of Representatives for the people of Utah ?

    1.  Creation of a college scholarship awarded to one receipiet per legislative district to attend a State-owned higher ed institution based on academics and extra-curricular activies
    2.  Creation of stillborn birth certificate recognition legislation

  2. How would you address the following issues? (Please answer each question in 200 words or less.)
    - Adequate funding for education, including funding for disadvantaged populations such as non-English-speakers and prison inmates


    Increase teachers pay across the board including the creation of a teacher stipend for classroom supplies, with the additional creation of a incentive system to award educators for classroom performance (test scores)

    - Energy resource development and clean air

    Advocate the creation of a State Income Tax incentive and/or Property Tax credit for vehicles that meet a standard of MPG (30 mpg) and a penalty for those vehicles that do not meet a minimum standard (10 mpg).

    Creation of State penalties for heavy polluters in addition to the Federal levels.

    - Water development and conservation

    Advocate the creation of a State Income Tax incentive (deduction) for zero-scaping to promote water conservation.

    Promote the use of zero-scaping and alternative landscaping methods to reduce water usage at State-owned facilites and State Parks.

    - Better communication between elected officials and their constituents

    Creation of a legislative blog/diary system to allow for weekly updates from elected officals.  In addition, the creation of a statewide e-mail directory which would electronically distribute new updates, events, news and legistlative agendas/actions.

    $50 million State Tax Rebate to help stimulate the economy

    $25 million stipend to Utah public school teachers for classroom supplies
