* Oppose bills that will limit transparency provided by the Government Records Access Management Act (GRAMA) and the Open and Public Meetings Act.  

Transparency in government is one of the basic positions of the League.

The following bills are related to the Ethics Commission :

SB136, Open and Public Meetings Revisions Related to Review of Ethics Complaints sponsored by Valentine
SB138, GRAMA Revisions Related to Review of Ethics Complaints sponsored by Valentine
 
These bills are at the top of the Senate second reading calendar.

HB60, Water Conveyancer Facilities Safety Act sponsored by Hunsaker, limits information on plans regarding the safety of canals.
Has been assigned to the Natural Resources Committee

HB189, Closed Meeting Amendments
sponsored by Painter allows closed meetings to discuss purchase, exchange, lease or sale of a water right or source of water supply.Scheduled to be discussed at the House Political Subdivisions Committee on February 22 at 8:00 a.m.

SB 185, Adoption of Canal Safety Act
sponsored by Davis requires canal remediation plans and and adds those plans to the the list of protected records under GRAMA.  Scheduled to be discussed at the Senate Natural Resources Agriculture and Environment Committee on February 22 at 4:10 p.m.

 
HB266, GRAMA Revision sponsored by Powell limits disclosure of public employees' salaries.
It has been sent to the House Rules Committee so is not scheduled for discussion.
