The League of Women Voters of Utah would like to request a 90 day extension period for review of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS).  This is a lengthy, technical document and a great deal of time is needed to review and digest it.

Since Utah ’s land and water would be affected by construction of the pipeline we feel it’s very important that we understand this issue.

We understand that that additional relevant and important information will emerge during the State Engineer's administrative hearing on Spring, Cave, Dry Lake, and Delamar Valleys in late September through early November that could be incorporated into the DEIS if the comment period is extended.

Summertime is the busiest time of the year for the residents of the area most directly affected by the project - the ranchers and farmers as it is for many reviewers.  Granting the extension would give everyone more time and opportunity to prepare comments.
